Job Responsibilities

  • Patrolling designated areas on foot or in vehicles and responding to emergency calls, accidents, and incidents to ensure a prompt and effective response.
  • Building positive relationships with the community through engagement with residents, addressing concerns, and participating in community events to foster trust and cooperation.
  • Enforcing federal, state, and local laws, which includes investigating crimes, making arrests, and providing support during criminal proceedings.
  • Regulating traffic, enforcing traffic laws, and investigating accidents to play a vital role in maintaining road safety on the base.
  • Responding to a variety of emergencies, including natural disasters, fires, and medical crises, with coordinated responses and assistance provision.
  • Implementing preventive measures to deter criminal activity, which involves conducting security assessments and advising residents on safety measures.
  • Engaging in accurate and thorough record-keeping, including documenting incidents, preparing reports, and gathering evidence for investigations and court proceedings.

Job Requirements

  • Testing Designated Position (TDP) with mandatory drug testing.
  • Subject to the regulations outlined in the Domestic Violence Offender Gun Ban, commonly known as the Lautenberg Amendment.
  • Must hold a Secret security clearance.
  • Required certifications in Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and first aid techniques.
  • Annual Physical Ability Test (PAT) is mandatory.
  • Must possess a valid state Driver’s License or obtain and maintain one.
  • Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10%.
  • Completion of weapons qualifications is required.
  • The position has been identified as “Mission Essential.”
  • Must meet individual reliability and suitability standards as specified by the Army Civilian Police and Security Guard Program (Army Regulation (AR) 190-56 and AR 380-67).
  • Shift work is a requirement for this position.
  • Successful completion of the USAMPS Conservation Law Enforcement Officer Course within one year is mandatory.
  • Subject to potential civil action in cases of improper exercise of authority or injudicious use of force.
  • Successful graduation from the United States Army Civilian Police Academy is required.
