Job Responsibilities
- Patrolling designated areas on foot or in vehicles and responding to emergency calls, accidents, and incidents to ensure a prompt and effective response.
- Building positive relationships with the community through engagement with residents, addressing concerns, and participating in community events to foster trust and cooperation.
- Enforcing federal, state, and local laws, which includes investigating crimes, making arrests, and providing support during criminal proceedings.
- Regulating traffic, enforcing traffic laws, and investigating accidents to play a vital role in maintaining road safety on the base.
- Responding to a variety of emergencies, including natural disasters, fires, and medical crises, with coordinated responses and assistance provision.
- Implementing preventive measures to deter criminal activity, which involves conducting security assessments and advising residents on safety measures.
- Engaging in accurate and thorough record-keeping, including documenting incidents, preparing reports, and gathering evidence for investigations and court proceedings.
Job Requirements
- Testing Designated Position (TDP) with mandatory drug testing.
- Subject to the regulations outlined in the Domestic Violence Offender Gun Ban, commonly known as the Lautenberg Amendment.
- Must hold a Secret security clearance.
- Required certifications in Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and first aid techniques.
- Annual Physical Ability Test (PAT) is mandatory.
- Must possess a valid state Driver’s License or obtain and maintain one.
- Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10%.
- Completion of weapons qualifications is required.
- The position has been identified as “Mission Essential.”
- Must meet individual reliability and suitability standards as specified by the Army Civilian Police and Security Guard Program (Army Regulation (AR) 190-56 and AR 380-67).
- Shift work is a requirement for this position.
- Successful completion of the USAMPS Conservation Law Enforcement Officer Course within one year is mandatory.
- Subject to potential civil action in cases of improper exercise of authority or injudicious use of force.
- Successful graduation from the United States Army Civilian Police Academy is required.
