Summary
Under the supervision of a Food Services manager, the Kitchen Porter’s primary duty is to uphold a high level of cleanliness in designated areas and carry out a diverse range of tasks to assist the Food Services outlet’s operations.
This role’s availability depends on securing funding.
Role Description
The specific responsibilities for this position can vary significantly based on factors such as location, shift, assigned tasks, menu, and other considerations. However, typical tasks include, but are not limited to:
- Washing dishes and scrubbing pots.
- Engaging in heavy cleaning, including floor and restroom cleaning.
- Collaborating with other staff to coordinate work.
- Stocking inventory.
- Identifying and reporting equipment in need of repair.
- Managing garbage and recyclable materials.
- Performing routine equipment maintenance.
- Carrying out any other duties as directed.
Requirements
- A minimum of 1-3 years of experience in food service, retail, or warehouse roles is mandatory.
- Possession of a Class G driver’s license would be advantageous.
- Previous experience in a leadership role is essential.
- Proficiency in equipment maintenance and proper sanitization procedures is a requirement.
- Strong prioritization skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision are necessary.
- We expect you to maintain a composed and courteous demeanor at all times. Along with the capacity to multitask and display initiative.
