Within our Engineering Team, the Software Quality Assurance (QA) Tester plays a pivotal role. Their primary responsibility is to rigorously test all new features and modifications within the software to ensure they not only adhere to the specified requirements but also do not introduce any unintended issues. The core mission of the Software QA Tester is to guarantee that our software consistently delivers the expected user experience through meticulous manual testing.
This is a full-time role with exempt status and falls under the supervision of the Director of Engineering-Assessment. It’s important to note that this position is remote, allowing for flexibility in work location.
Key Responsibilities
- Acquire a comprehensive understanding of the software’s entire scope and how our users engage with it.
- Stay current with software updates and changes.
- Thoroughly assess new software features and enhancements developed by Software Engineers to ensure they align with acceptance criteria.
- Actively participate in Acceptance and Validation Testing before software release to customers.
- Conduct regression testing when Software Engineers introduce solutions for new features, enhancements, and bug fixes.
- Collaborate within a cross-functional team to formulate ad hoc testing plans aimed at identifying potential regression issues. Document any discovered bugs for resolution by Software Engineers.
- Strategize and document test scripts and workflows for acceptance and validation testing.
- Offer insights to the Product Team regarding the software’s usability from the perspective of various user types.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree or 0-3 years of relevant experience as a QA Tester. Substitution of relevant experience for formal education is acceptable.
- Proficiency in using software and a deep understanding of user interactions with software.
- Effective communication skills, encompassing both written and verbal communication.
- Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational capabilities, and the ability to independently manage timelines.
- Demonstrated self-motivation, a solutions-oriented mindset, and a proactive approach to tasks.
- Proven ability to effectively resolve issues and identify the root causes of problems.
- Familiarity with and experience in working with the agile development process and proficiency with Jira.
- Tenacity and a demonstrated track record of successfully bringing projects to completion.
- Willingness to adapt working hours to collaborate with a global team spanning the USA and Australia.
Salary Range:
The offered salary for this position ranges from $60,000 to $73,000, contingent upon the candidate’s level of experience. Additionally, this role is eligible for an annual performance bonus.
