DHL Express currently has opportunities for Warehouse Associates at our Scarborough, ON location. In this role, you will play a vital part in efficiently and accurately managing shipments and packages to meet our customers’ needs to the best of our abilities. Your Responsibilities:
- Scanning freight in adherence to Global Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and providing assistance in warehouse searches when necessary.
- Contacting customers to address any issues or concerns.
- Generating traces/FTRs (Follow-up Traces) as the situation requires.
- Ensuring that all damaged shipments are promptly reported and handled according to GSOP guidelines.
- Labeling and relabeling shipments and shelves as needed.
- Moving freight within the warehouse area to meet specific requirements and addressing damaged shipments.
- Accurately processing shipments within set deadlines.
- Participating in the organization and upkeep of the warehouse area.
- Contributing to maintaining a safe and collaborative work environment.
- Upholding responsibility for both internal and external customer satisfaction.
- Handling shipments in a manner that minimizes damage.
- Ensuring that shipment processing fully complies with Transport of Dangerous Goods requirements.
- Adhering to the Collective Agreement, company policies, and procedures.
- Promptly notifying operations management of any issues or safety concerns as they arise.
- Carrying out any other duties as assigned by the shift Supervisor.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Completion of a High School Diploma or an equivalent qualification.
- Minimum age of 18 years.
- Proficiency in both verbal and written English.
- Comfort and willingness to learn new computer programs.
- Competent and efficient computer skills with a minimum typing speed of 30 words per minute.
- Capability to lift and transport parcels, weighing up to 70 pounds per piece.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively and meet deadlines within tight time constraints.
Conditions of Employment:
Physical Demands: The working conditions can often be physically demanding or uncomfortable, as the warehouse environment may vary between hot and cold depending on the season. The job frequently requires a high level of concentration and physical activity. Managing tension and adhering to time constraints is an ongoing aspect of the role. Uniforms will be provided.
