Job Description

These positions, located at the Heartland Petrochemical Complex (HPC), involve individuals working as Operations Technicians in the Polypropylene (PP) Plant and Propane Dehydrogenation (PDH) Plant. The Shift Supervisor will directly supervise the Operations Technicians. Initially, the PP Operations Technician will undergo training and achieve qualifications in the Extruder field roles, while the PDH Operations Technician must complete training and qualification in the Oleflex/Fractionation field role. There is an opportunity for them to advance to the Oleflex/Fractionation console position after the startup phase. Additionally, we welcome applications for potential future roles as CUB (Central Utility Block) Operators.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Collaborate closely with the PP and PDH Leadership and Operations Shift teams to accomplish operational targets, objectives, and strategies.

Continuously monitor plant performance, uphold operational discipline, and take necessary corrective actions when needed.

Ensure the safe operation and maintenance of the plant by adhering to HPC Manuals, Operating Procedures, Operating Instructions, Value Added Tasks, and Daily Rounds.

Actively participate in Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental (HSSE) initiatives, demonstrating a strong commitment to safety within the facility.

Perform minor maintenance duties in accordance with Operating Procedures and Manuals.

Efficiently communicate during shift handovers to ensure a seamless transition of responsibilities.

Prepare plant equipment for maintenance, including decontamination and energy isolation procedures.

Engage in material handling using forklifts and overhead lifting devices.

The successful candidate will be required to join the Emergency Response Team.

Qualifications and Background

Ideally, possess a Diploma in Power or Chemical Engineering.

A 3rd Class Power Engineering Certificate or active progression toward its completion is necessary (employment is contingent on a commitment to attain it).

Preferably, have over 10 years of experience in plant operations within the Petrochemical industry.

Previous experience in Extruder, Additive, and Reactor operations would be considered an advantage.

Exhibit a strong technical understanding of plant processes, equipment, and automation.

Candidates with control room operator experience will be given preference.

Demonstrate analytical and troubleshooting skills.

Possess acute attention to detail and well-developed interpersonal skills.

Be capable of working within a 12-hour rotating shift schedule.
