How you contribute to our team:
You play a crucial role in various tasks related to meal preparation and distribution within the Correctional Center. Your responsibilities include food preparation, sanitation, and cleaning duties.
As a General Help/Cashier, your responsibilities include:
- Prepare fruits and vegetables by washing, peeling, and cutting, following the preparation schedule.
- Cook and pan food according to the preparation schedule.
- Measure ingredients for food production, ensuring accuracy.
- Safely store food with proper wrapping, dating, and rotation procedures.
- Portion meal trays and special diet trays based on the meal schedule.
- Load, deliver, collect, and unload meal service carts in designated areas.
- Perform general cleaning tasks, including carts, trolleys, dishes, and pots.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in storage areas.
- Handle equipment and products safely and efficiently.
- Manage cash register operations and follow meal ticket procedures.
- Assist with other duties during off-service hours as needed.
- Fulfill any reasonable requests assigned by management within an appropriate timeframe.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Completion of Grade 12 or a comparable blend of education, training, and experience.
- Successful completion and maintenance of a clean criminal record.
- Possession of a Food Safe Level 1 certificate or its provincial equivalent.
- Physical capability to perform all tasks related to the job.
- Proficiency in operating all related equipment.
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Adherence to good personal hygiene practices.
- Ability to give and receive instructions effectively.
