Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a meat cutter or butcher is preferred but not required; we offer comprehensive training.

Physical Requirement:

  • Strength: You should have the physical strength to handle and cut various meat products, including larger cuts of meat.

  • Endurance: The role may involve standing for extended periods and performing repetitive cutting tasks, requiring good physical endurance.
  • Lifting: You should be capable of lifting heavy cuts of meat and trays of meat products, often weighing up to a certain specified weight.
  • Mobility: The ability to move around the work area, including bending, reaching, and twisting, is important for efficient meat preparation.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Execute meat cutting tasks once training is successfully completed. These tasks encompass, but are not limited to, the scraping and traying of products, cubing steaks, grinding ground meats, and processing meat in accordance with the Standard Practice Manual.
  • Fulfill responsibilities as directed for the meat department.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service by assisting and communicating with customers in their product selection.
  • Properly identify, wrap, price, and weigh all items within the meat department, following specified procedures outlined in the standard practice.
  • Maintain the fresh, frozen, and self-service cases, ensuring products are rotated correctly.
  • Receive, code, rotate, and store meat deliveries appropriately.
  • Thoroughly clean and sanitize all areas, including cases, wrap stations, scaling equipment, the cooler, and the cutting room, including the disassembly and reassembly of equipment as necessary.
  • Meet the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations.
