About Role
Arco’s National Distribution Centre (NDC) in Hull is responsible for sending out 300 pallets and 8,000 parcels daily to over 25,000 customers in the UK and Ireland. We’ve recently expanded this facility, aligning with Arco’s sustainability goals by utilizing natural daylight and energy-efficient LED lights that activate when necessary. This expansion has increased our storage and distribution capabilities, allowing us to swiftly respond to the high demand for PPE during the Covid-19 pandemic. We proudly supported the NHS, frontline responders, and essential industries during this critical time.
In your role as a Warehouse Operative, your primary focus will be to work safely and efficiently, ensuring the smooth movement of goods within the Arco NDC. This includes tasks from receiving to dispatch while strictly adhering to Arco’s policies and operational procedures.
Responsibilities
- Giving top priority to customers and upholding excellent customer service standards.
- Keeping the workplace clean and presentable for health and safety reasons and when customers visit.
- Receiving and registering goods according to established procedures, ensuring accurate quantities and products are received.
- Ensuring that products are placed in the correct storage location accurately.
- Picking and packing customer orders promptly and accurately using standard procedures.
- Assisting with the timely and accurate return of products to the vendor.
- Safely operating the required equipment to store stock correctly and addressing any physical or system issues as needed.
- Providing support to fellow team members and other parts of the business when necessary.

Qualifications
- Prior experience in a warehouse or similar setting.
- Strong written and verbal English skills.
- Proficiency in numerical tasks.
- Practical experience with manual handling.
- A track record of meeting deadlines and displaying keen attention to detail.
- Basic computer skills.
- Familiarity with warehouse safety practices.
- Knowledge of products, including pack quantities.
