Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute child-care programs that foster the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social growth of children.
- Lead activities such as storytelling, singing songs, and organizing visits to local points of interest for children.
- Engage children in various activities including storytelling, teaching songs, and crafting.
- Encourage children to express their creativity through art, role-playing, music, and physical activities.
- Provide guidance and assistance to children in developing proper eating, dressing, and toileting habits.
- Prepare snacks and arrange rooms or furnishings for lunch and rest periods.
- Observe children for any signs of potential learning or behavioral issues and create reports for parents, guardians, or supervisors.
- Participate in staff meetings to discuss the progress and challenges faced by the children.
- Demonstrate knowledge of the Day Nurseries Act.
- Evaluate the skills, interests, and requirements of children and communicate progress and issues with parents and colleagues.
- Foster cooperative relationships with co-workers and community service providers involved in child care.
- Develop and maintain an environment that prioritizes the health, safety, and well-being of children.
