We are in search of an enthusiastic team member to join our licensed indoor cannabis cultivation facility on Vancouver Island. The role of the Plant Production Associate will involve reporting to the Plant Manager and Cultivation Leaders. This position plays a vital role in the daily operations that keep our production running smoothly. You’ll provide assistance in various areas such as cultivation, production, and occasionally, maintenance and plant care. The Plant Production Associate ensures that all activities related to cannabis adhere to the applicable laws, standards, and regulations outlined in the Health Canada Cannabis Act.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute work tasks in a safe manner, adhering to safety, GMP, and Health Canada Cannabis guidelines, regulations, and requirements.
  • Engage in various activities related to cultivation, production, and maintenance, including inventory-related responsibilities, cloning, pruning, plant training, trellising, defoliation, irrigation, transplanting, pest scouting, plant health assessments, and environmental monitoring. Keep an eye on environmental conditions and nutrient levels as needed.
  • Perform tasks associated with harvesting and post-harvesting, which encompass activities like plant harvesting, weighing, hang drying fresh cannabis, assessing dried samples, bucking, trimming, and bulk packaging. Additionally, support in compliance with Standard Operating Procedures and Health Canada Cannabis regulations for cannabis waste disposal.
  • Contribute to maintenance and sanitation tasks, ensuring facility and equipment cleanliness and sterilization in accordance with SOPs and Cannabis Regulation requirements. Occasionally, collaborate in maintenance work both inside and around the facility, involving cross-functional work with the maintenance and QA departments.
  • Timely communication of any issues to management.
  • Fulfill any other duties that may be necessary from time to time.

Your Qualifications:

  • A positive and professional demeanor.
  • Proficiency in manual dexterity and motor coordination, along with strong eye-hand coordination.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and adeptness in precise work while maintaining consistency.
  • Capability to stay focused and efficiently complete repetitive and routine tasks within specified timeframes.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Competence in working safely and effectively both as part of a team and independently.
  • Proficiency in following Standard Operating Procedures and taking directions.
  • Physical ability to stand or sit for extended periods, as well as the capacity to lift 25 kg.
  • Possession of a Security Clearance and BC Pesticide Applicators License is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Preferred prior experience in cultivation and labor, with cannabis-related experience considered a bonus.
  • You exhibit a positive and self-motivated attitude, demonstrating the ability to perform routine and repetitive tasks efficiently.
  • You are an efficient worker in both independent and team environments.
  • Your attention to detail is exceptional, and you excel in accurate documentation and record-keeping.

Necessary Qualifications:

  • Possession of a High School Diploma is mandatory.
  • Applicants are required to be a minimum of 19 years old.
  • Ability to undergo and successfully pass a criminal record check is a prerequisite.
