Key Responsibilities
- Procure materials as needed according to site specifications.
- Buy stationery for the head office and other sites based on job orders.
- Manage vendors, keep an approved supplier and subcontractor list.
- Keep a record of prices and market data for analysis.
- Explore and evaluate global purchasing sources.
- Request quotes from approved suppliers.
- Buy materials and services within or below budget limits.
- Ensure materials and services meet project and company standards.
- Ensure procurement aligns with project schedules.
- Monitor timely shipment deliveries to the site.
- Engage actively in purchase negotiations.
- Issue purchase orders according to company standards.
- Get proper authorization for purchase orders.
- Cultivate relationships with suppliers and subcontractors.
- Stay updated on MEP materials and subcontractor market.
- Complete credit applications for new suppliers to join the approved vendor list.
Qualifications
- A degree in engineering or a related field.
- Relevant educational background in procurement, engineering, or related field.
- Proven experience in procurement, vendor management, or supply chain.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Analytical and strategic thinking abilities.
- Familiarity with market trends and pricing.
- Proficiency in procurement software and tools.
- Attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work within budgets and schedules.
- Team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Adaptability and problem-solving capabilities.
- Commitment to upholding company standards and policies.
- Knowledge of MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) materials is a plus.
- Prior experience in a similar industry or role is advantageous.
- Continuous learning and willingness to stay updated in the field.
